The European Society of Veterinary Internal Medicine is an international special interest group devoting to advancing and sharing our knowledge in all aspects of companion animal internal medicine, but with a particular focus in respiratory medicine and infectious disease.
One of our main activities concerns the design and implementation of several lecture streams at the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) annual congress. Each year, we try and develop a theme of related lectures. We also have panel discussions on topical, and sometimes controversial subject areas. Examples from the last few years include treatment of aspergillosis, diagnosis and treatment of leishmaniosis, and this year we will address antimicrobial use in companion animals. There is a link to the Congress website here.
Membership of ESVIM is open to anyone with an interest in internal medicine, particularly infectious and respiratory disease. The benefits of membership include a discounted registration fee for the annual ECVIM congress, a bi-annual newsletter, and the opportunity to contribute to the design of lecture streams at future ECVIM congresses.
